THIS IS A CALLOUT

  • Possibly. It depends on the venue, event format, licensing, insurance, food safety requirements and the type of product.

Food and drink concepts may need to provide hygiene documents, allergen information, insurance and any required permits or certifications.

  • We’ll contact you to discuss the concept, date, venue, space, setup, technical needs, budget, promotion, licensing and any practical requirements.

Nothing is confirmed until the details are agreed in writing.

  • No. We’re open to both established creatives and first-time concepts.

That said, we need to know you can deliver the idea safely, clearly and reliably. Links, images, videos, previous work or even a strong visual reference will help us understand what you’re building.

  • We review submissions on a rolling basis.

If your idea feels right for an upcoming event, we’ll contact you directly. Because programming depends on dates, venues and format, we may not be able to respond to every submission individually.

  • What Does Not is not a space for loud, aggressive or interruptive marketing.

If your idea is selected, any brand presence, selling, signage, sampling, content capture or promotional activity must feel subtle, considered and in line with the atmosphere of the event. We are interested in ideas that add to the room, not activations that turn the room into an advert.

We may allow minimal branding where it makes sense, such as a small logo, discreet signage, a menu, a product label, a social handle or a short credit. Anything more visible must be agreed with us in advance.

Being selected does not mean What Does Not is required to promote you, your brand, your product or your project. Any promotion through our website, social channels, mailing list, event listings, press, ticketing pages or other channels is entirely at our discretion and will depend on the event, the idea and the overall programming.

The rule is simple: contribute to the culture first. Market second.

We’re opening spaces for musicians, artists, DJs, makers, collectives, food pop-ups, performers and culture-shapers to take over a corner at our nights.

Got a concept, installation, set, tasting, drop, workshop, ritual, performance or beautiful little disruption?

Submit it. If it fits the energy, we’ll help make it happen.

Note: No copy-paste ideas or ai slop. We're looking for original stuff that the world needs to see.

This is an open call for the ones who make the room feel different.

We’re building events that move beyond the usual formula. That means giving space to the people shaping culture from the edges: selectors, chefs, artists, builders, brands, performers, collectives and anyone with a concept that deserves to be experienced in real life.

If selected, your idea could be featured at one of our upcoming events as a pop-up, performance, installation, activation, food concept, DJ set, workshop, showcase or collaborative moment.

BRING US THE IDEA, WE’LL BRING THE ROOM

FAQS

  • Artists, DJs, musicians, makers, designers, food pop-ups, chefs, collectives, performers, independent brands and anyone with a concept that could live inside an event.

You do not need to be famous, established or professionally polished. You do need a clear idea, strong taste and the ability to deliver what you pitch.

  • We’re open to ideas that add energy, texture or surprise to an event.

That could be a DJ set, live performance, food pop-up, art installation, workshop, product drop, tasting, screening, market stall, collective takeover or something that does not fit neatly into a category.

The main thing: it needs to have a point of view.

  • We review submissions on a rolling basis. If your idea feels right for an upcoming event, we’ll contact you to discuss the concept, logistics, timing and whether we can make it work.

Submitting an idea does not guarantee selection, but every submission will be considered.

  • This depends on the idea, but you may be asked for things like:

    • Setup requirements

    • Crew size

    • Equipment list

    • Power or sound needs

    • Public liability insurance (if relevant)

    • Food hygiene or allergen information (if relevant)

    • Risk assessment or safety information (if relevant)

  • What Does Not is not currently have a funded programme, grant scheme or commissioning body. We do not have a pot of funding attached to this open call, so every opportunity is shaped around the event, the idea and what is realistically possible.

Some collaborations may be paid. Some may work through product sales, revenue share, ticket split, contra, testing space, promotion or a straight creative exchange. In some cases, especially for brands, commercial projects or selling-led activations, a participation fee may apply.

If your idea is shortlisted, we’ll discuss the setup with you clearly before anything is confirmed. You’ll know what’s offered, what’s expected and whether any costs or fees apply before you commit.

No one is expected to commit without knowing the terms.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER

A space inside one of our events
A place for you or your idea to exist in front of the right kind of room.

A real audience
People who are there to discover, taste, listen, buy, watch, dance, talk and stay curious.

Basic production support
We’ll help shape what’s possible around the venue, timing, layout, sound, power and flow.

A chance to test, sell, perform or showcase
Whether it’s a pop-up, installation, new drop, tasting, performance or something stranger.

Creative collaboration with experience behind it
You’ll work with three women with decades of experience across culture, events, production, brand, hospitality and creative programming. We know how to make an idea feel alive in a room, not just good on paper.

A collaborative way in
We’ll work with you on how the idea fits, so it feels part of the event rather than pasted on top of it.

TELL US MORE

Give us the rough version, the polished version or the late-night-notes-app version. We want to understand the concept, the energy, what you need and why it belongs in the room.
